How Is Indians on the Eel River An Object of Experience?

Elizabeth Wood and Kiersten F. Latham’s book Objects of Experience: Transforming Visitor-Object Encounters in Museums encouraged me to consider how every art exhibition has the potential to engage its viewers in a way that resonates with them on a personal level. The Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University is home to thousands of artworks that would act as an excellent canvas to implement Wood and Latham’s lessons. Using George Winter’s 1850 painting Indians on the Eel River from the European and American Art gallery, I created a short podcast on how museum educators and curators can use object interviews to help themselves understand how viewers want to engage with objects in a museum. I would like to thank my friends Chase, Shoko, and Dana for participating. Enjoy listening.
